Use Realword from Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor

Connect your AI app to Realword once. After that you can ask it to write an article, humanize a draft or check an AI score, and the work lands in your Realword account.

Server URL

https://realword.ai/api/mcp

The tools spend credits from your Realword account, at the same prices as in the app.

Two ways to connect

Sign in with Realword

Most apps open a Realword sign-in page the first time they use the server. Choose Allow there and the app is connected.

Use an API key

For apps that ask for a header, create a key in Profile, AI connections. Keys start with rw_live_ and are shown only once. Send it as Authorization: Bearer rw_live_....

Set it up in your app

Menus change between app versions. If a step doesn't match what you see, open the app's connector or MCP settings and add the server URL there.

Claude

  1. On claude.ai, open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector and paste the server URL.
    https://realword.ai/api/mcp
  3. Click Add. When Claude asks, sign in to Realword and choose Allow.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector in Organization settings first. On the Free plan you can add one custom connector.

Claude Desktop

  1. Custom connectors work in the desktop app too. Open Customize, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector, paste the server URL and click Add.
    https://realword.ai/api/mcp
  3. Sign in to Realword when asked and choose Allow.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Plugins in ChatGPT and select the plus button.
  2. Choose Add custom MCP server, give it a name and paste the server URL.
    https://realword.ai/api/mcp
  3. Set up authentication, confirm the risk warning and create the plugin. Sign in to Realword when asked and choose Allow.

Whether you can add a custom MCP server depends on your ChatGPT account and workspace settings.

Cursor

  1. Open ~/.cursor/mcp.json to use Realword in every project, or .cursor/mcp.json in one project.
  2. Add the entry below and save. Cursor asks you to sign in to Realword the first time it connects.
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "realword": {
          "url": "https://realword.ai/api/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
  3. To use an API key instead, add a headers entry with your key, as in the second example.
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "realword": {
          "url": "https://realword.ai/api/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer rw_live_..."
          }
        }
      }
    }

Claude Code

  1. Run this in your terminal.
    claude mcp add --transport http realword https://realword.ai/api/mcp
  2. Start Claude Code, run /mcp, pick realword and sign in through your browser.
  3. Or skip the browser and pass an API key.
    claude mcp add --transport http realword https://realword.ai/api/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer rw_live_..."

Questions

Do I need a paid plan?

No. Any Realword account can connect. The tools spend the credits in your account, and write_article only starts when you have at least 500 credits.

Where do the articles go?

Into your Realword account as drafts, next to the articles you write in the app. Open and edit them there like any other article.

What happens if a job fails?

If a step was charged and then can't finish, the credits for that step go back to your balance. If only the images fail, you keep the article.

How do I disconnect an app?

Go to Profile, AI connections. Disconnect removes an app you signed in with, and Revoke stops an API key from working.

I lost my API key. Can I see it again?

No. Realword stores only a hash of each key, so it can't show the key again. Revoke the old one and create a new key.
